Animal Geneticists are animal scientists who conduct research in genetics, nutrition, reproduction, growth and development of domestic farm animals. They find techniques to enhance animal production efforts. They study the animal’s nutritional requirements and advice the producers about animal feed. They conduct research on animal selection and breeding to increase the quality of breed and animal produce. After studies they advise animal keepers on improved practices in feeding, keeping and improving the quality and quantity of animal products. They crossbreed animals to obtain a breed that has the desired traits using the principals of genetics.
