Established as a private maritime institute through AMET Trust with just 14 cadets in 1993, AMET has, through its uncompromising strides of excellence and ambitious zeal to serve the students and nation, transformed into the first university for maritime education in India. AMET was conferred Deemed University status by UGC/MHRD on the strength of its Maritime courses & Training and has thus become India’s first and the only University in Maritime Education. AMET has obtained Certification to ISO 9001: 2000 Standards from Det Norske Veritas, Norway.
