A nurse is a healthcare professional who is focused on caring for individuals, families, and communities so that they attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and functioning. Nurses usually work under the guidance of physicians and doctors and provide support in basic health care and even in complicated surgeries.

Nurses may practice in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, private homes and schools, retirement homes etc. Some nurses may also advise and work as consultants in the healthcare, insurance, or legal industries.
