Pay and Remuneration

The salary of a graphic designer depends largely on the field that he or she is working in. The remuneration provided to the candidates also varies as per their responsibilities, experience, industry in which they are working as well as the trainings they have undergone.Freshers can expect a pay scale between Rs.1 Lac to rs.2.5 lac Per Annum. As one gains experience and exposure, the graphic designers get around Rs.4 to Rs.7 lacs Per Annum .

Graphic designing has to do a lot with creative heads, but training and proper guidance is very essential to learn the minute details which matter a lot in the long run. Charles Csuri is usually referred to as the father of computer graphics. That in itself shows the contribution he has provided the industry with. He started off experiments with computer graphics technology in the year 1964 and the following year he started making films.

 

David Airey is a name that is pretty famous within the graphic designing industry. David is the man behind lots of projects such as Giacom, Berthier associates, Asian Development bank and Yellow pages. He has also created brand identities for lots of businesses.

 

Jacob Cass is a modern day graphic designer who shot to fame with his famous blog just creative designs. Jacob specializes in logo design, product branding, print design and web interface.

 

Thomas Knoll is a graphic designer who has inspired many with his works. He is the person behind one of the most successful software of all time, the Photoshop.

A Day In Life

A typical day in the life of a graphic designer would vary a lot depending on the specialization that a person has or the field in which he or she is working. In the shortest possible way one can say that a day in a creative designer’s life is usually surrounded by lots of creativity. Every day is different from the other day. The following is the schedule of an art director.

 

9-10 am: Reach office and check inbox for mails. Then talk with team regarding any software upgrades.

11 am: Follow up calls or mails and take details of what the clients are looking for.

12 pm: Have a chat with web programmer regarding budgets and timeline of the cascading style sheets.

12:30 pm: Talk with a client regarding the logo designed for them.

1-2 pm: Lunch hour.

2 pm: Call a gallery owner to confirm a meeting.

2:10 pm: Go through portfolio materials needed for the gallery show.

3 pm: Meet with the gallery owner and show him the teams work and talk out all the possibilities.

4 pm: Back at office and check mails again.

4:10 pm: Work on the budget for the catalog, website designs, invites for the gallery owner.

4:30 pm: Final looks at the designs made for a previous client and then forward it to the same.

5:30 to 7:30 pm: Work on the designs for a clients and then wrap up by 8pm and that is the end of the day.
