Whistling Woods International Institute, Mumbai
Founded by one of the India’s leading filmmakers – Subhash Ghai and is promoted by Mukta Arts Limited & Filmcity Mumbai. Whistling Woods International(WWI) is Asia’s largest Film, Television, Animation and Media Arts institute, providing world-class education in all technical and creative aspects of filmmaking and television. Whistling Woods has also been rated amongst the top 10 film schools in the world by ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, alongwith institutes like NYU Tisch, NFTS, FAMU & AFTRS. WWI was the youngest school to be featured in that list.
The Institute also has affiliations with global film schools. These include international student co-productions and credits transfer. Some of the affiliations are with Deakin and Griffith Universities in Australia, Bradford College in the UK, Syracuse University in the United States and New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Asia. In 2010, The Hollywood Reporter named Whistling Woods on its list of "The best film schools in the world". The school has recently even tied up with DY Patil to create a DY Patil Whistling Woods International School of Media & Communication, taking its first step towards nation wide expansion as well as giving students a chance to spend 18 months in the Pune Campus & the rest of the time in Mumbai.
