Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), as an apex level national agency for youth development in the country was established in 1993 at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. With its multi-faceted functions, it has been elevated to the status of Deemed to be University in 2008 and subsequently as an institute of national importance by the Act of Parliament No. 35/2012. RGNIYD is the first of its kind in South and South East Asia striving to be fully responsive to the needs and aspirations of youth. RGNIYD offers sixcutting-edge Post Graduate programmes in the area of youth development
