Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of Bachelor of Science courses shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations (Academic or Vocational Stream) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereof by the Syndicate of the University of Madras.
Admission will be based on merit, taking into account marks secured in Degree Course, Entrance Test and Interview. The weightage for each component is as follows: Degree Marks 100, Entrance Exam 50, Interview 10. Community Quota allotments will be followed as per TN Govt. Rules.
Admission will be provisional until Bachelor's Degree Certificate and final mark lists are produced and is also subject to University's approval. Candidates failing to produce pass certificate and marks certificate immediately after publication of results cannot retain the seat allotted to them. iii) Admission is subject to verification of marks certificates by the Director of Government Examinations and if the mark certificates are found to be false, admission is liable for cancellation besides criminal action being taken.
In addition to government scholarships, the Almuni Association of the College also extends financial support for education to a few deserving students on a case to case basis.
Graduate in any discipline, of a minimum 3 years duration or its equivalent (under 10+2+3 pattern or any other pattern ( including professional courses) that fulfills the mandatory requirements of 15 years of formal education from a recognized university and approved by the University of Madras will be eligible for applying the course.

A student who has passed B.A./ B.Sc. Psychology Degree Examination, or any of the following degree, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), B.A. Sociology, B.Sc. Home Science or Human Development or Child Development, B.A. Philosophy, B.Ed. or any other related subjects, B.A / B.Sc. with Psychology paper / papers either from the Madras University or from any other University, accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto, shall be permitted to appear and qualify for the M.Sc. Degree in Counselling Psychology of this University.

The candidate should have undergone (10+2+3) pattern in any recognized university in and abroad. The age limit is forty years. The age factor is relaxed for giving opportunities for development workers who would like to refresh and encourage them to re-involve with new dimension.
