IIA (Indian Institute of Aeronautics) Group has years of excellence to impart quality education in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in India. The course and Institute is approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India and first in India to have complete scope of approval in all streams i.e Mechanical (Aeroplane and Power Plant), Mechanical (Helicopter and Power Plant) and Avionics (Electrical System, Instrument System and Radio Navigation System).
The Institute was the first institute in India who was given approval to conduct in house On-Job-Training (OJT) on its fleet of Live Aircrafts like Bonanza A-35 (light Aircraft), Learjet – 24 Heavy Aircraft, HS-125 (Heavy Aircraft), Aérospatiale Alouette II SA-318C (Helicopter) & Eurocopter EC-120B (Helicopter). It was first ever time in the history of Indian Civil Aviation that a live Airworthy Aircraft was imported from U.S.A. and grounded purely for the purpose of practical demonstration and training in an AME college for the benefit of its students.
