MBBS
Eligibility

No of seats - 77 students [37-General category, 16-SC/ST category, 19-OBC, 1-Orthopaedic physically handicapped (if seat available), 5-foreign national nominated by Govt. of India]

For MBBS : Students should have attained 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

 

He/she should have passed

(a) 12th Class under the 10+2 scheme/ Sr. School Certificate Examination or an equivalent examination of a recognized Board of any Indian State with English and Physics, Chemistry (Organic & Inorganic) and Biology (Botany & Zoology)

or

(b) Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) of a recognised Indian university or a recodnised Board with with English and Physics, Chemistry (Organic & Inorganic) and Biology (Botany & Zoology)

or

(c) Premedical or Pre-professional exam of the integrate MBBS course with English and Physics, Chemistry (Organic & Inorganic) and Biology (Botany & Zoology) after havind passed the higher Secondary school exam or Pre-university Exam

or

(d) the 1st year exam of the 3 year B.Sc degree with English, Physics and Chemistry (Organic and Zoology) after passing the Higher Secondary or Pre-University Exam

or

(e) any other exam with the required subjects which is in scope and standard (including its courses and syllabus) is considered by the institute to be equivalent to Pre-medical/ Intermediate Science exam of an Indian University.

 

A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in four compulsory subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry (Organic & Inorganic) and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

 

For SC/ST a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry (Organic & Inorganic) and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

Entrance and Admission

For MBBS : Having met the above stipulated eligibility criteria, students have to appear for an entrance exam conducted on 1st June every year in Delhi and 8 other centres across India. Applications forms are available on the website www.aiimsexams.org from 1st week of March till 1st week of April. Results are declared in mid July. The selected students have to undergo a medical test following which the final selection is done.

 

Results are declared by mid July and admissions completed before 1st August every year.

Course Fee and Scholorships

For MBBS : Rs. 5856/- on admission (after which all expenses are covered by the Govt. of India); Interns are entitled for a stipend of Rs. 8900/- per month during their internship of 1 year.

 

Merit scholarship is payable to students who stand first and second in the 1st Prof. MBBs exam @ Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 p.m respectively for 1 and half years.

 

Merit scholarship is payable to students who stand first and second in the 2nd Prof. MBBs exam @ Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 p.m respectively for 2 years.

 

Merit scholarship is payable to students who stand first and second in the final Prof. MBBs exam @ Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 p.m respectively for 1 year.

 

Summer fellowships are also awarded after completion of projects.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Human Biology
Eligibility

AIIMS is the only institution in the country running a B Sc (Hons) course in Human Biology. This course is aimed at producing a group of highly proficient young scientists well-versed in basic medical and modern biological techniques. Some of these graduates may eventually fill teaching positions in medical schools in the basic medical sciences. In addition, they are also expected to be tomorrow's leaders in research, specially in emerging fields like biotechnology and molecular biology.   

 

Students who have passed 12th Class under the 10+2 scheme or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are eligible for the course.

B.Sc. Hons Nursing
Eligibility

The course is of 4 years and number of seats is 70 and only female candidates are eligible.

 

From August 2013, Six New AIIMS like Institutions (viz: Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh) will start intake of 60 students each for B Sc Hons Nursing Course.

 

12th class pass students under the 10+2 scheme or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for the entrance exam.

Entrance and Admission

The admissions to the course take place through an entrance exam conducted by AIIMS. Students have to register online for admissions.

B.Sc. Hons. Para Medical
Eligibility

AIIMS offers B Sc Hons Opthalmic Techniques and B Sc Hons Medical Technology in Radiography.

There are 19 seats in Opthalmis Techniques and 9 seats in Medical technology in radiography.

 

The course is of 3 years duration and the B.Sc. (Hons) Para-Medical course candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics. 

 

Entrance and Admission

The admission to the course takes place through an entrance test conducted by AIIMS.

MD/ MS/ MDS
Eligibility

No of seat 217-220

Seats for MD/MS/MDS: Students should possess MBBS degree from a University recognised by the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India and should have completed their internship of 12 months in a recognised hospital.

 

He/she should have a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in all the MBBS/BDS professional exams.

 

SC/ST candidates or those who have served in Rural areas for more than 2 years should have obtained 50% marks in aggregate in the aforesaid exams.

 

Students with more than 2 faiures in MBBS/BDS professional exams will not be considered eligible. For those having failed once or twice in any of the exams, a deduction of 1% and 3% marks shall be made for determining the eligibility.

Entrance and Admission

For MD/MS/MDS : Selection is made twice a year i.e in January and July. Having met the above stipulated eligibility criteria, students will have to appear for an Entrance test. Forms are available on www.aiimsexams.org. A medical test is mandatory for the candidates who are selected. Submission of protocol and thesis needs to be done within 4 months of enrollment.

 

The selected candidates should join as per date mentioned in the letter of selection

Course Fee

For MD/MS/MDS: Students are to pay Rs.505/- plus hostel fees at the time of admission. First year residents will be paid Rs. 9400; Second year Rs. 9725 and Third year Rs. 10,050 p.m. They will be entitled to other allowances as per rules.

M.Sc.
Eligibility

AIIMS Offers M Sc In Anatomy, Bio Chemistry, Bio Physics, Pharmacology , Physiology, Perfusion Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology and Nursing

There are 37 seats for M Sc courses and 22 seats for M Sc Nursing. The Duration of the couse is 2 years. 

The candidate must posses one of the following qualifications and have secured at least 60% 

marks for General/OBC candidates (55% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in the qualifying 

examination:

For M.Sc. Nursing

(i) B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing /B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic /B Sc. Nursing (4years) course 

from any recognised University, from an educational institution Recognised by the Indian 

Nursing Council, with 60% marks for Gen/OBC candidates (55% marks in case of SC/ST 

candidates).

(ii) Registration as Nurse, RN, RM (Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife) with any State Nursing

Council.

Entrance and Admission

The candidates have to clear entranec exam conducted by AIIMS for admission to the course.

Course Fee

Students have to pay Rs 700/ only as the fee. 

Master in Biotechnology
Eligibility

Number of seats is 51

 

The course in Master in Biotechnology started at this Institute in 1986 was the first in the country based in a medical centre. The training emphasis in this course is on medical aspects related to diagnosis and therapy using modern bio-technological tools of recombinant DNA technology and immunology. 

Training specially emphasis on laboratory methodology and self sufficiency in planning an execution of research projects. The syllabus includes recombinant DNA technology, hybridoma technology, T cell cloning, immunological assays, genetics biophysical and biochemical dissertation handling. A dissertation on any of the above aspects chosen by the candidate is included as part of the course.

The candidate must posses one of the following qualifications and have secured at least 60% marks for General/OBC candidates (55% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in the qualifying examination:
