A Day In Life

A Sales Manager’s typical day varies depending upon his level of seniority and years of experience. However, for a young, starting level Sales Manager, the day begins early as with the advent of blackberry’s and smart phones, the Emails from clients and supervising managers start coming in, early in the day.

Once the Sales Manager reaches the office, typically he/she starts off by briefing his team of junior executives about the immediate tasks at hand. Thereafter he supervises the sales calls by accompanying his team members to the clients place. The major part of the day is spent in going for new client pitches and meetings. Usually the evening part is spent in making preparations for client sales presentations and in sending follow up emails. A substantial part of the week or a month also spent in training his team in newer methods of sales pitching and finally in achieving sales targets.
