If the medical profession could be summed up in a line it would be ‘Doctors save lives’. Medicine as a profession is one of the most sought after careers and it commands tremendous respect in the society.

 

Simply put, doctors save lives. They do so by preventing disease, diagnosing and treating the diseases. Doctors are also teachers. They teach the budding doctors in the medical college and later in the hospital when the young doctors are asked to carry out the practical aspect of medicine, they once again guide them through it.

 

Becoming a good doctor is not an easy task. Most of the successful doctors have gone beyond just the graduation degree (MBBS or equivalent) and gone further to do specialization in their preferred streams like Medicine, Paediatrics, Surgery etc. One can also become a super specialist like a cardiologist or a neurologist.

 

A Doctors' career is also very rewarding. Apart from the handsome compensation that they get, it is the smile on the patient’s faces and the blessing of the patients near and dear one’s that comes as a big reward.
