Company Secretary

Institute of Company Secretaries of India is the only recognized organization offering this course. The course consists of three stages after 10+2 pass or equivalent:

Foundation Programme

Executive Programme

Professional Programme

In addition, the student has to undergo Practical Training for about 15 months which a student may opt to start after passing the Executive Programme. Students who join the Course after passing the Graduation have to undergo two stages of the Company Secretaryship i.e.

Foundation Programme which is of eight months duration can be pursued by 10+2 pass or equivalent students of Arts, Science or Commerce stream (Excluding Fine Arts)

Executive Programme can be pursued by Graduates of all the streams except Fine Arts.

Professional Programme can be pursued only after clearing the Executive Programme of CS Course. Admission to the CS Course is open throughout the year. Examinations are held twice a year in June & December.

Integrated ( Full Time) CS course . Now ICSI offers integrated full time CS course for graduates. There are 50 seats and the program is offered in Navi Mumbai. The admissions are based on online entrance test and scores of CAT / XAT are also considered for admissions.

The fee for CS Foundation Programme is - Rs. 3600/- for Executive Programme - Rs. 7000/- for Commerce Graduates while - Rs. 7750/- for Non Commerce Students ICSI offices across India.for Professional Programme - Rs.7500/-

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is a recognized professional body formed to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries. It is the only institute which offers this course and awards the certificate bestowing the designation of Company Secretary to a candidate qualifying for membership of the institute. The institute has its headquarters at New Delhi and has four regional offices at Calcutta, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. In addition there are 36 chapters and 10 satellite chapters located all over the country.

Indira Gandhi National Open University offers a special B.Com. programme with a major in corporate affairs and administration and M.Com. in business policy and communication for ICSI students and members.
